Step by Step Photos: Tofu Sloppy Joes Recipe
1. Pour oil in the pan and heat. Add onion and cook for 5 minutes.
2. Add green pepper and cook for 5 minutes.
3. Add tomatoes and tomato paste and mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes.
4. Add tofu and mix well.
5. Add brown sugar, salt, black pepper, and oregano and mix well.
6. Add water.
7. Turn the burner to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
8. Add jalapeno peppers and red pepper flakes. (OPTIONAL)
9. Put mustard on the hamburger buns. Serve tofu mix on toasted hamburger buns.

Ingredients
- green pepper - 1, chopped
- white onion - 1, chopped
- firm tofu - 14 oz, squeezed and mashed
- tomato paste - 6 oz
- tomato - 2 1/2 cup, (diced)
- oil - 2 tsp
- brown sugar - 1/2, (optional if you want sweet)
- water - 1/4 cup
- salt - 1/2 tsp or taste
- black pepper - a few sprinkles
- nacho sliced jalapeno peppers - few, (optional)
- red pepper flakes - (optional)
- hamburger buns - 8
Instructions
- Pour oil in the pan and heat.
- Add onion and cook for 5 minutes.
- Add green pepper and cook for 5 minutes.
- Add tomatoes and tomato paste and mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Add tofu and mix well.
- Add brown sugar, salt, black pepper, and oregano and mix well.
- Add water.
