Ingredients
  

  • 1, chopped green pepper
  • 1, chopped white onion
  • 14 oz squeezed and mashed firm tofu
  • 6 oz tomato paste
  • 2 1/2 cup (diced) tomato
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 1/2, optional if you want sweet brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp or taste salt
  • a few sprinkles black pepper
  • few (optional) nacho sliced jalapeno peppers
  • optional red pepper flakes
  • 8 hamburger buns

Method
 

  1. Pour oil in the pan and heat.
  2. Add onion and cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Add green pepper and cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Add tomatoes and tomato paste and mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Add tofu and mix well.
  6. Add brown sugar, salt, black pepper, and oregano and mix well.
  7. Add water.
  8. Turn the burner to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
  9. Add jalapeno peppers and red pepper flakes. (OPTIONAL)
  10. Put mustard on the hamburger buns.
  11. Serve tofu mix on toasted hamburger buns.
